Badge Group

Use a Badge Group when customers should see selectable button-style choices directly on the product page. Badge Groups can be single-select or multi-select and can support Live Preview, price add-ons, inventory, and Conditional Logic.

Overview

Badge Groups display options as pill-shaped or rectangular buttons. Use them for engraving placement, lettering style, or other short personalization labels where all choices should be visible at once.

Use Shopify variants for choices that determine the actual product SKU, base inventory, or model. A Podifai badge collects customization data and does not automatically replace the Shopify variant added to the cart. See Shopify Variants vs Podifai Options.

How to add a Badge Group option

1. Open the product in Podifai and enter its option editor. Add a Badge Group option.
2. Set a label such as "Engraving position", then add named values such as "Front" and "Back".
3. Use single selection when only one position is allowed. Configure multiple selection only when customers may choose several values.
4. Set required and default behavior, save the customizer, and select each badge on the product page.

In a single-select group, choosing "Back" should replace the selected "Front" badge. The choice collects a value; it does not automatically move engraving text or change the Shopify variant. To show different positions, configure the corresponding preview or conditional personalization fields.

Live Preview

Badge Group supports Live Preview. When enabled, selecting a badge updates the product image in real time.

When Badge Group values use images, you can apply a built-in mask or upload a custom PNG mask for the preview. See Image Masks.

General Settings

• Label value — The option group title (e.g. "Engraving Placement")
• Required field — Whether at least one badge must be selected
• Default option — Pre-selected badge(s) when the page loads
• Help content — Hover or popup guidance.
• Allow multiple option values — Let customers select more than one badge

Option Values

Each value needs a name. You can duplicate or delete values. In a leading-image layout, the value can also use a PNG, JPG, JPEG, WebP, or SVG image. Additional settings per value:

• Image — Optional visual used by the leading-image badge style
• Price adjustment — Surcharge for specific selections
• Track inventory — Link to a Shopify variant for stock tracking

• Radius — Set corner rounding.
• Fill & outline — Choose the fill and outline style.
• Outline color — Set the outline color.
• Selected filled color — Set the selected-state fill color.

Conditional Logic

Use Conditional Logic to show or hide this option based on another selection. For example, show engraving placement badges only when the shopper selects an option to add engraving.

Set a Placeholder Image

Open this option's Live Preview tab and turn on Enable placeholder image. Choose a provided placeholder or add your own image. This setting is available for Image Upload, Image Swatch, Badge Group, Dropdown, and image-enabled Checkbox.
