We used the same inputs where the templates allowed them and recorded differences in category, layout and workflow. These are observations of the linked demos, not app-wide performance benchmarks. Demo product prices are separate from subscription prices.
Enter AB on two leather accessories: a Podifai keychain and a Customily wallet. Compare the text field, layout or personalization style, color controls and on-product result. These are related products, not identical designs; the screenshots do not verify manufacturing output.
Leather keychain

Observed result: The demo offers six layout cards and a three-character limit. We captured AB in Line and ABC in Round. The $19.99 USD cart record retained ABC and Round Monogram.
Use case: Short initials on a leather accessory with selectable layouts.
Limits: AB and ABC screenshots show different states; pair the matching state with its cart evidence. Layout cards are not an app-wide font count.

Observed result: Embroidery used a two-character Initial field at $45.00. Metallic Foil Stamp changed the field to twelve-character Name, exposed name colors and changed the price to $38.00. AB rendered in both modes.
Use case: Separate embroidery-initial and longer foil-name workflows.
Limits: The mode changes artwork, input and variant price. A wallet is not a keychain; embroidery production files were not inspected.
Start with initial count and letter order. Where two layouts meet the same requirement, test legibility and order data rather than declaring a universal winner.
Upload the same pet portrait and enter LUNA on ceramic mugs. Podifai's circular photo area and the Customily demo's watercolor treatment serve different design needs. Compare the finished artwork rather than treating these templates as equivalent image effects.

Use case: A fixed circular photo area with manual fitting and a separate name font.

Use case: A watercolor-style photo gift with text and background artwork.
Limits: The text sits near the right edge in the captured view, and the portrait has a straight lower boundary. Further placement/view checks are needed before using this as a polished showcase or judging its UX. No production-file or cart verification was performed.
Choose the artwork treatment first. Judge the uploaded image in the actual product preview, not just its upload thumbnail. Circular fitting, background removal and watercolor address different design needs.
Merchant-admin setup was not independently tested. A storefront screenshot cannot establish setup effort, inventory deduction or fulfillment reliability. Podifai's transparent PNG documentation describes production artwork; actual files and provider requirements need a separate merchant-side check.

The mug artwork differs: Podifai uses a circular photo area, while the Customily demo applies a watercolor treatment. Compare the design your customers need; these examples do not establish an overall UX winner.
Yes, after enabling the shop-wide generation setting, which is off by default. Podifai documents one flattened transparent PNG per view with included text or uploaded-photo artwork, delivered in an order ZIP. Product backgrounds and Image Swatch graphics are excluded. The longest side is up to 3600 pixels at 300 DPI, and backgrounds inside an uploaded photo remain. Check the actual file and supplier requirements; public demo screenshots do not verify production output.
Do not assume that generating artwork also sends an order to a POD provider. Customily lists integrations with Printful, Printify and ShineOn. Podifai's documented PNG output alone does not establish equivalent native order submission. If your store depends on one of these providers, confirm the integration and test an order through your required workflow before switching.
An automatic Customily-to-Podifai import has not been verified. Plan to rebuild and test one representative product using your artwork, options and rules, then confirm any migration help with support. The work involved depends on your templates, product count and fulfillment setup; there is no verified one-click migration or fixed setup time.
Podifai documents customer selections, original uploaded-file links and the final live-preview link, when available, in the Shopify order data. The original upload, final preview and print-ready PNG serve different purposes. Check a test order to make sure your team can find the data and artwork it needs for production.
Podifai saves the final preview link, but displaying it as a cart thumbnail requires theme setup. Its current documentation says checkout still uses Shopify's default or variant image; Podifai does not currently replace that thumbnail with the customized preview. Saving a preview link with the order does not mean it appears in every shopping step.
