Both apps provide visual personalization. The useful choice depends on your custom-order volume, the views and controls your product needs, and the files your production team can use. A successful storefront preview does not settle those requirements on its own.
Feature availability depends on the plan and setup. See the pricing and workflow comparison below.

Published capabilities checked October 7, 2026. Zepto’s billing guide directs merchants to the Shopify listing for current plans. The public demo images below illustrate specific configurations; they do not verify every feature, invoice or production file.
| Criteria | Zepto | Podifai |
|---|---|---|
| Plans and allowances | Starter $9.99 for 100 custom orders/month; Basic $19.99 for 200; Pro $34.99 for 500; Unlimited $69.99 for unlimited custom orders. Current cards no longer specify the older product-count caps. 15-day trial; USD recurring charges every 30 days. | Published plans: Free for 3 custom products; Starter is $7.90/month for 30 products; Growth is $15.90/month for unlimited products. No transaction fee in these published plans. |
| Visual personalization | Text, uploads and dependent component choices with live preview. | Text and customer images on a layered 2D preview, with one to five views and inline or popup display. |
| Multiple views | Multiple views are documented, except when using Combined Variant Image. | One to five configured 2D views; test each product side and included output layer. |
| Pricing rules | Selection-based charges and conditional options are published; a general dimension calculator needs separate evidence. | Fixed or percentage increases/decreases and linked Shopify variant prices. Percentages use the same effective base price, without compounding. General dimension formulas and quantity-tier pricing are not supported by the current documentation. |
| Production files | Default PNG plus optional PDF, vector PDF or SVG; additional-file dimensions follow the background image and background removal is a separate setting. | When enabled (off by default), orders generate flattened RGB transparent PNGs for views containing supported text or customer uploads. Product backgrounds and Image Swatch artwork are excluded; longest side up to 3600 pixels at 300 DPI. Vector and editable-layer export are not documented. |
Public product demos · October 2026
Explore customization across different product types. Each pair records the inputs and visible result in the linked demos, with template differences explained below. Product prices shown in screenshots are separate from app subscription prices.
Both previews show the name and number. Front/back placement and garment colors differ.
Both previews show Podifai. Dimensions, fonts and colors differ. Zepto additional options were not all configured, so this is not a completed ordering workflow.
These screenshots document storefront configuration and previews. They do not establish checkout, production-file quality, merchant setup effort or every mobile interaction. A template that retains its original product photo does not establish that the app lacks preview support elsewhere.
The criteria include competitors’ operational capabilities as well as Podifai’s visual features. Plan restrictions and workflow differences stay in the cells. “Not established” means the sources checked do not settle that requirement; it does not mean the app cannot do it. This is an official-source review, not an independent test of every capability. Product-specific review dates appear with the plans below.

These are illustrative buying scenarios, not customer case studies or measured results. The recommendation follows the documented capabilities above.
Requirement: Shoppers choose a dial, strap and other components while seeing their combined appearance.
How the apps fit: Zepto explicitly targets multi-component customization. Podifai supports layered 2D choices and charm-style selection, but assembly constraints or production identifiers still need their own validation.
Test before choosing: Try incompatible combinations, unavailable parts and the final production output. A convincing preview alone is not enough.
Requirement: Shoppers choose text or upload a photo, inspect the result and order supported artwork.
How the apps fit: Podifai is worth testing when its 2D preview, supported option rules and transparent PNG fit the product. A formula-priced, POS-dependent or vector-cutting workflow may favor another app.
Test before choosing: Use a long name and a low-resolution upload, change the variant, place an order and inspect the PNG in production software. Confirm the full-canvas dimensions and that all required customized elements reach the production file.
Published monthly USD prices; Shopify recurring charges generally run every 30 days. Annual discounts, taxes and separately contracted services are excluded. Examples state their assumptions and are not promises of an equivalent feature set at a lower price.
Sources checked October 7, 2026.
Budget example: 250 custom orders/month exceed Basic’s 200-order allowance, so Pro at $34.99/month is the relevant published tier. Count custom orders, not just catalog products.
Check current plansSources checked October 7, 2026.
Budget example: 20 custom products fit Starter at $7.90/month; 100 need Growth at $15.90/month. These prices only help if the supported inputs, preview and production output meet the requirement.
Check current plansPodifai’s production-file boundaries matter as much as its subscription price.
Plan a manual rebuild of one representative product first; this is a compatibility checklist, not a tested importer. Keep the existing setup available until the replacement passes a test order. Recreate labels, required fields, defaults and dependencies, then check mobile preview, paid choices, cart quantities and fulfillment data.
| Workflow | Migration status | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Choices, views and dependencies | Rebuild | Recreate supported rules and layers from original assets. Test every view and the defaults when a required option becomes hidden. |
| Production output | Manual | Enable Podifai PNG generation. Check included text/uploads, excluded swatch artwork, dimensions and the order ZIP with production. Retain the existing workflow if PDF/SVG output is essential. |
| Paid choices and fulfillment | Manual | Compare cart totals, option data, stock links and downstream integration. A preview-image link is not proof of automatic fulfillment. |

Podifai offers three custom products on Free. That can suit a small catalog when its supported inputs and PNG output fit. Zepto has a 15-day trial and paid custom-order tiers; free installation or a trial is not a permanent free selling plan.
The current listing places Basic at 200 and Pro at 500 custom orders per month, so Pro at $34.99 is the published tier for that workload. Confirm account terms and how orders are counted before subscribing.
Its documentation describes default PNG and optional PDF, vector PDF and SVG. Additional files use the background image’s dimensions; background exclusion has its own setting. Inspect a sample file rather than assuming preview and production output are identical.
When enabled (off by default), orders generate flattened RGB transparent PNGs for views containing supported text or customer uploads. Product backgrounds and Image Swatch artwork are excluded; longest side up to 3600 pixels at 300 DPI. Vector and editable-layer export are not documented. Files preserve the full view canvas and are downloaded as an order ZIP from Podifai or Shopify Admin. Views without included text or uploads have no PNG. Validate the physical print size; a PNG does not establish vector cutting paths or automated POD fulfillment.
No. This comparison separates official published capabilities from the specific public-demo observations shown with the images. Merchant billing, generated competitor artwork and every theme or integration have not been independently tested.

Method: this page maps published competitor capabilities to Podifai's current supported workflow. It does not present setup time, page speed, reliability, or migration effort as a measured benchmark unless a section explicitly describes the test and its conditions. Quoted reviews, when present, are selected qualitative examples rather than a representative satisfaction sample; use the linked live archive to review the full rating distribution and current context.
