Overview
The Products page in Podifai lists all your Shopify products. Products are synced from your Shopify store, so new products and changes you make in Shopify appear in Podifai automatically. Use this page to add options to a product, edit them, or remove them. If a new product is missing, refresh the page.
Add Product Options
After you choose a product, Podifai gives you two ways to build its option set: start from a template and customize it, or create the option set from scratch.
Option 1: Use a Template
Templates are the fastest path when your product is close to a common setup, such as apparel, jewelry, home decor, or other visual personalization flows. Pick a template, attach it to the product, then edit the option labels, values, images, pricing, and live preview settings. For custom templates, choose Link when products should stay synced to the template, or Copy when the product should keep an independent copy. See Templates Overview.
Option 2: Create from Scratch
Create from scratch when you want full control over the option structure. Start with a blank editor, add the option types you need, then configure each one before saving.
- Go to the Products page in the Podifai sidebar.
- Find the product you want and click Add Options.
- Choose to create the option set from scratch.
- Add option types such as Image Swatch, Text Input, Image Upload, Dropdown, or Badge Group.
- Configure each option, then click Save.
Choose each option's type carefully. You cannot change an existing option's type later. To switch (for example, from Dropdown to Badge Group), delete the option and create a new one, then re-create its settings, values, and conditions.
Once saved, the product shows an Edit Options button instead of "Add Options", indicating it already has an option set attached.
Editing Existing Options
Click Edit Options next to any product that already has options. This opens the same editor where you can add, remove, or rearrange option types.
To use an option without Live Preview, follow the option-only setup steps, then click Save. The option will still appear on the storefront and its value will still be saved with the order.
If the product is linked to a template, decide whether the change should apply to all linked products before editing. Make shared changes in the template; use an independent product configuration for product-specific changes. See Link vs Copy.

Product Status and Customizer Status
On the Products page, Status is the Shopify product status, such as Active, Draft, or Unlisted. It is not an on/off switch for a Podifai option set. Customizer statusshows whether options have been added: Added or Not added. Open Edit Options for existing options; use Add Options to create them. A template-linked product can show Update template; changes to that template can affect other linked products.
Temporarily Hide Customization Without Deleting Options
Choose the scope you want to hide before changing the setup:
- Pause just one product: in Shopify admin, change that product's status from Active to Unlisted. Shoppers will not find it in your store because it is hidden from collections, search and recommendations, but anyone who already has the direct link can still open it. Your Podifai options are kept.
- Turn it off for the whole store or theme: go to Online Store > Themes > Customize > App embeds and turn off Podifai, or remove the Podifai App Block from the product template. Turning off App Embed affects the whole theme. Removing the App Block affects every product that uses that template. An App Block can still display the customizer when App Embed is off. Save the theme and check a product page.
- Take the entire product off sale: change its status to Draft in Shopify or manage its sales-channel publication. This affects the product itself, not just its customization form.
Shopify's Unlisted status hides a product from discovery surfaces, but customers with its direct URL can still access and buy it. It is not a private or disabled product. See Shopify product status guidance. Do not use Delete Options as a temporary pause: that action removes the configuration.
Delete Options
If a product no longer needs its saved custom options, open its row's three-dot menu on the Products page and choose Delete Options. This returns the product to its regular Shopify product page without Podifai options.

Next Step
After saving your options, enable the App Embed in your Shopify theme. This is the default setup that makes your options visible on the storefront. If you want exact placement control, you can turn off App Embed and add the Podifai App Block instead.
For a complete example, follow Your First Customizer. Before launch, use its verification checklist to check required fields, preview placement, charges, and saved order details.
