Apparel: ALEX text
ALEX is the shared input. The tested Cloudlift template was configured for a name, while Podifai also displays 23.

All three tools can help shoppers preview personalized products. Compare catalog size and order volume, then inspect the price calculations and output files. This comparison combines official documentation with public storefront demo observations by Podifai, including desktop and mobile-layout screenshots.
Feature availability depends on the plan and setup. See the pricing and workflow comparison below.

Explore customization across different product types. Each pair records the inputs and visible result in the linked demos, with template differences explained below. Product prices shown in screenshots are separate from app subscription prices.
These are separate two-app examples. They do not represent one identical product tested across all three apps.
ALEX is the shared input. The tested Cloudlift template was configured for a name, while Podifai also displays 23.
Both previews show AB. Pendant shapes, fonts and letter layouts differ.

A and B entered separately; the gold round pendant displays AB. The selected 45 cm chain option carries an additional charge.

Both previews show the name and number. Front/back placement and garment colors differ.
Both previews show Podifai. Dimensions, fonts and colors differ. Zepto additional options were not all configured, so this is not a completed ordering workflow.
These screenshots document storefront configuration and previews. They do not establish checkout, production-file quality, merchant setup effort or every mobile interaction. A template that retains its original product photo does not establish that the app lacks preview support elsewhere.
Public demo observations · October 2–3, 2026
We entered ALEX in each public apparel demo, entered 23 where a jersey-number field was available, inspected the preview and attempted to add one item to the cart. We also repeated name entry at a 390 × 844 CSS-pixel viewport. These are browser observations by Podifai, not a controlled usability study: the products, themes, fields and store configurations differ. Mobile screenshots test layout, not a physical phone, touch interaction or the on-screen keyboard.
There is no overall UX winner from this test. All three examples accepted personalization inputs; the useful differences are what remains visible while editing and what we could confirm in the cart. Demo merchandise prices below are not app subscription prices.
Input and preview: Typing ALEX displayed the name on the shirt. In the October 3 follow-up, selecting Electric changed the artwork to lightning; selecting Monoton and entering ALEX rendered the name in the outlined font. At the tested mobile width, the product preview remained visible above the name input.
Cart check: The $10 demo shirt reached the cart with name: ALEX, type: image and image: fire. An Edit link was present; completing an edit was not tested.
What this means for shoppers: Keeping the preview in view can make checking a name easier while typing. Evaluate the same layout with your longest option form and product artwork.
Input and preview: ALEX and 23 appeared on the jersey preview. Focusing the name and number inputs showed the relevant back and front views. At the tested mobile width, both the name input and the personalized jersey were visible.
Cart check: The product displayed $100. The October 3 follow-up found that Upload your Logo is a required file field. Our earlier name-and-number-only attempt did not complete that requirement, so its empty-cart result is not a valid test of cart transfer. A completed jersey upload-to-cart workflow remains unverified. A separate pet-tag test did succeed, with text, font choice and a preview link retained in the cart; see below.
What this means for shoppers: Showing the relevant side while editing helps check placement. Confirm that behavior with your own views, then test every required field and your own cart theme.
Input and preview: Entering 23 changed the number in the jersey preview. The form displayed three font samples. On desktop, the top of the jersey was outside the viewport while editing the lower fields. At the tested mobile width, the name input and preview were not visible together.
Cart check: The $119 demo jersey reached the cart with ALEX, 23, the selected colors, font and a live-preview image link. This verifies storefront cart data, not production-file generation.
What this means for shoppers: Visible font samples help shoppers inspect the offered styles, but this demo requires scrolling back to review the design on mobile. Test preview placement in your chosen theme.
On October 3, we tested the official Formula Extension demo. This is a separate product from the shirts above. It demonstrates a workflow for stores that quote by area, rather than establishing equivalent formula support in all three apps.
Buying implication: For made-to-measure products, test calculated charges and recovery of earlier selections together. Cloudlift demonstrated both the price breakdown and restoration of the tested configuration. Its Formula extension is an additional subscription charge; these $60/$90/$120 values are demo merchandise totals.
These October 3 follow-ups use different products to exercise specific workflows. Their merchandise prices are not a comparison of app costs.
On the Pet ID Tag demo, uploading an image is optional. We entered ALEX and DEMO ONLY, selected Beon and added the product. The cart showed one $19.99 item with the entered text, font, design, motif and a preview-image link. We checked the two-sided design and retained selections in that example. This verifies that example’s cart transfer; it does not complete the jersey’s required upload test.
On the Celestial Tumbler demo, changing Image & Text (+$10) to Text (+$5) changed the price from $44.99 to $39.99 and hid the image-choice fields. We entered ALEX and selected black text and pirataone-regular. The cart retained that configuration at $39.99. Opening its preview link showed the customized tumbler; this is a shopper preview, not the merchant production PNG.
Our chosen black-on-black combination has low contrast. Color choices should be tested for legibility; successful saving alone does not make a design suitable for production.
Both examples retained the tested selections in the cart. The new test items were removed afterward; no checkout was completed.
Cloudlift’s Export documentation says files are generated when an order is created, and lists limitations for arc text, text filters, font strokes and emoji fonts. It also distinguishes a PNG embedded in PDF from vector PDF. A supported file extension alone does not prove your design will export as required.
Zepto’s order-file settings document background removal and additional PDF, vector PDF and SVG files; additional-file generation can affect add-to-cart processing. Podifai’s PNG documentation describes a separate transparent file for each customized view, available to merchants in order interfaces. These are documentation findings, not inspected output samples from this test.
We did not complete checkout, upload a test file, measure response time or inspect merchant setup and generated production files. Paid-option calculations were tested in Cloudlift’s Formula demo and Podifai’s tumbler example as described above. Other upload, pricing-rule and output-format coverage in the feature tables comes from the linked documentation. A visible upload control is not proof that cropping, resolution checks or production export work for your files.
Before choosing, run a representative product with your longest name, artwork upload and paid option. Check both the cart and the resulting order, then open the actual production file. A preview image alone cannot establish print readiness.

The criteria include competitors’ operational capabilities as well as Podifai’s visual features. Plan restrictions and workflow differences stay in the cells. “Not established” means the sources checked do not settle that requirement; it does not mean the app cannot do it. This is an official-source review, not an independent test of every capability. Product-specific review dates appear with the plans below.

These are illustrative buying scenarios, not customer case studies or measured results. The recommendation follows the documented capabilities above.
Requirement: The shopper enters width and height, uploads a photo and needs a price calculated from area.
How the apps fit: Cloudlift’s formula and export extensions deserve the first test. Podifai fits a preset-size version using fixed adjustments, but an arbitrary dimension calculator is not established in its docs.
Test before choosing: Test minimum/maximum dimensions, rounding, quantity changes and the resulting artwork at the required physical size.
Requirement: Shoppers choose a dial, strap and other components while seeing their combined appearance.
How the apps fit: Zepto explicitly targets multi-component customization. Podifai supports layered 2D choices and charm-style selection, but assembly constraints or production identifiers still need their own validation.
Test before choosing: Try incompatible combinations, unavailable parts and the final production output. A convincing preview alone is not enough.
Requirement: Shoppers choose text or upload a photo, inspect the result and order supported artwork.
How the apps fit: Podifai is worth testing when its 2D preview, supported option rules and transparent PNG fit the product. A formula-priced, POS-dependent or vector-cutting workflow may favor another app.
Test before choosing: Use a long name and a low-resolution upload, change the variant, place an order and inspect the PNG in production software. Confirm the full-canvas dimensions and that all required customized elements reach the production file.
Published monthly USD prices; Shopify recurring charges generally run every 30 days. Annual discounts, taxes and separately contracted services are excluded. Examples state their assumptions and are not promises of an equivalent feature set at a lower price.

Budget example: For 100 orders/month with Formula and Export: $9 + $9 + $9 = $27/month. This is an illustrative subscription calculation, not a claim that Podifai provides the same formula or vector-export workflow.
Check current plansSources checked October 7, 2026.
Budget example: 250 custom orders/month exceed Basic’s 200-order allowance, so Pro at $34.99/month is the relevant published tier. Count custom orders, not just catalog products.
Check current plansSources checked October 7, 2026.
Budget example: 20 custom products fit Starter at $7.90/month; 100 need Growth at $15.90/month. These prices only help if the supported inputs, preview and production output meet the requirement.

No. Count the products, monthly orders, extensions and required output formats. A small catalog with many orders can have a different plan requirement from a large catalog with few orders.
No. Its official documentation describes additional output files. Verify the formats and configured artwork needed by your production process instead of assuming it has no production output.
When enabled (off by default), orders generate flattened RGB transparent PNGs for views containing supported text or customer uploads. Product backgrounds and Image Swatch artwork are excluded; longest side up to 3600 pixels at 300 DPI. Vector and editable-layer export are not documented. Files preserve the full view canvas and are downloaded as an order ZIP from Podifai or Shopify Admin. Views without included text or uploads have no PNG. Validate the physical print size; a PNG does not establish vector cutting paths or automated POD fulfillment.
