7 Custom Tote Bag Shopify Store Examples (2026)
Separate the bag specification from its decoration: fabric, handles and quantity belong alongside artwork, print placement or monogram instructions. Vograce and The Monogram Shop illustrate different ways to collect those decisions.

Separate the bag specification from its decoration: fabric, handles and quantity belong alongside artwork, print placement or monogram instructions. Vograce and The Monogram Shop illustrate different ways to collect those decisions. The 7 selected examples below document different personalization workflows; historical store estimates are context, not a sales ranking.
This guide is for Shopify merchants planning custom tote bag product pages. It compares what shoppers can specify and what a merchant must explain before production. A fixed printed design, a stock color choice or the word “custom” in a brand name is not enough to establish customer personalization.
How we selected these examples
The starting point was the first 30 candidate rows in Podifai’s March 15, 2026 custom-tote-bags report snapshot, whose broader dataset contains 329 records. We selected seven examples with specific personalization evidence from official product pages reviewed on October 15, 2026. Where the original product link was unrelated or unclear, the case identifies the replacement. The remaining candidates are excluded from this selected article, not declared incapable of customization. The broader dataset was not revalidated in full.
Revenue bands and country codes are preserved historical whole-store research fields. They are not audited financials, category sales, current merchant disclosures or manufacturing locations. Historical tool detection does not prove which app runs a particular product today. We removed the mixed-currency catalog-average-price comparison and use visible ordering behavior in the table instead. No purchase, checkout, production output or conversion result was tested.

Selected-sample context: CN: 1, US: 6. Historical tool signals: not detected: 3, Teeinblue: 1, Zepto: 3. These counts describe only the seven selected records. “Not detected” means unknown, not that the store uses no personalization software.
1. Vograce: uploaded artwork and print/strap configuration
Vograce’s woven canvas tote page separates print technique, shoulder-strap printing, strap color and bag color from the artwork upload. The visible controls distinguish single-sided printing from two-sided designs. This makes the physical bag specification and the submitted design separate parts of the order.

Merchant takeaway: group construction options separately from artwork inputs. Explain which surface each file covers when buyers can print the front, back or strap.

2. Sea Bags: initials added to a nautical tote
Sea Bags’ Breton Stripe Anchor tote combines a fixed nautical design with customer initials. The official description explicitly invites an initial-based upgrade and links to its personalization process. This is a focused monogram offer, rather than evidence that shoppers can freely redesign every element of the bag.

Merchant takeaway: identify the editable area and preserve the parts of the base design that are fixed. Show a finished personalized example and link the production terms.

3. Sprinkled With Pink: embroidered monogram or name on a floral tote
The original Sprinkled With Pink tote-and-pouch URL now redirects to its bags collection. The current Floral Canvas Tote provides a relevant replacement: shoppers choose strap color, bag size and a monogram or name. The description specifies embroidery in a chosen thread color, and the image gallery warns that mockup spacing, size and color may vary.

Merchant takeaway: separate bag specifications from the lettering treatment. Label mockups as approximations where production can differ, and explain which part of the finished item receives the embroidery.

4. Mary’s Kitchen Towels: logo printing with placement and artwork choices
Mary’s current TB200 product page separates bag color, logo print colors and front versus front-and-back placement. The original URL now redirects to this product. Its ordering instructions allow uploaded or emailed artwork and describe a proof step. The visible full-color option is labeled DTF, alongside numbered print-color choices.

Merchant takeaway: connect print method, placement and quantity to the artwork specification. Explain the proof step before presenting production timing; a submitted file alone is not an approved print job.

5. PUPSENTIALS: pet portrait embroidery from a photo
PUPSENTIALS’ Carry-All Canvas Tote uses a pet portrait embroidered onto the bag. The current form has a pet-count choice, a photo upload and an optional text control. The product description also explains that the front pocket is sewn shut to accommodate embroidery, a practical detail that affects how the finished bag can be used.

Merchant takeaway: explain physical consequences of customization as well as the artwork. A proof-based embroidered portrait also needs a clear transition from customer photo to approved production design.

6. T. Anthony: monogrammable patch on a two-tone tote
T. Anthony’s Two Tone Tote explicitly lists a monogrammable leather patch. It replaces a sample-sale link whose personalization eligibility was unclear. The current Personalize It button opens a patch preview with an initials field, a character counter and decoration-color swatches. The interface explicitly labels the preview as approximate. We opened these controls but did not submit a personalized order.

Merchant takeaway: when the decoration area is a small patch, show its placement and define the initials or lettering it accepts. Explain any assistance needed to complete the personalization request.

7. The Monogram Shop: initials, font and thread color
The Monogram Shop’s Medium Canvas Everyday Tote page explains how to specify different monograms when ordering multiple bags: give the initials, font and color in the notes. This is useful evidence of an order-instruction workflow, although it does not establish a live visual configurator.

Merchant takeaway: associate each monogram with a particular bag. For larger multi-recipient orders, structured per-item fields can be easier to check than one shared free-text note.

What to decide before building a custom tote bag page
- Separate bag construction from artwork: size, handles, fabric and colors are different decisions from print placement, thread color and the uploaded design.
- Define front, back and optional accessory personalization separately. For recipient-specific bags, associate every name and artwork file with the correct item.
- Explain proofing, decoration limits and any physical changes, such as a pocket that becomes unusable after embroidery.
These are editorial implementation recommendations drawn from the ordering patterns above. They are not claims that one option set, theme or app causes higher sales.

Frequently asked questions
Does a custom tote bag store need live preview?
It depends on the design. A fixed initial placement may be adequately explained with labeled samples. Flexible photo placement or multiple decoration areas may benefit from an interactive preview. A human-prepared proof is another workflow; tell shoppers which approach applies.
Are these the seven highest-revenue stores?
No. They are a selected set with documented personalization evidence. The retained revenue bands are historical whole-store estimates and are not suitable for comparing category sales or the commercial effect of customization.
Does “not detected” mean no personalization app is installed?
No. Automated detection can miss apps, theme code, external designers and manually assisted workflows. Confirm the actual customer inputs and production handoff instead of treating a missing detection as a technical conclusion.
